Minutes from the Community Council meeting held on 3rd February 2016

Members present; acting chair Pam Freegard, treasurer Bob Walter, Brenda Arnold, Diana Banner, Muhammed Chaudhry, John Clark, Violet Clark, John Freegard, Paul Izquierdo, Kate Johnson, Clunford Mason, Madge Sutton, Bob Wedge.

Also present;
Frances Barrone (SBC Town Centre locality facillitaor), Bob Wright (Central Ward Councillor), Eiles Robinson (resident).

Council issues - Bob Wright.
- The Probation Service will look to see if they can do anything to repair the community centre playing area.
- Five 'notices' have been issued against vans used for fish storage in Broad St.  Public Health have visited and would continue to monitor the situation but would have to see sales taking place to take action.
- The ward councillor team were monitoring fly tipping in the Haydon St. area - an experimental eurobin had still not been provided six months late. Other bins might also be available.
- There was an ongoing problem with needles etc in the Marsh Farm area. The police were looking into this and there was liaison with local schools.
- Work was expected on the road repairs in Manchester Rd. including drainage problems. The 'pimpled' road crossing marker slabs were due for a quarterly inspection soon.
- Improper use of the one-way traffic system around Queenstown was being discussed with the car park owners.
- The cumulative impact policy on licensed premises could be put to twelve month consulting soon.
- The Mosque in Manchester Rd. would be holding an open day on Sunday 7th.

Residence brought up issues with inconsiderate parking and poor response to 'phoning 101.
In response to a question Cllr. Wright reported that work on the County Ground refurbishment had started.
It was suggested that community hand gritters might be considered. Cllr. Wright would look into associated insurance issues.

Other Business.
The Community Council exterior notice board facing Broad St. at the community centre had been installed and the defibrillator was on order.
Frances Barrone highlighted forthcoming and regular events at the community centre.
The state of the fence and path maintenance near the Mitchells entrance to the County Ground was brought up. Frances would pass this on via the localities team.
