Broadgreen gardening club. (Eiles Robinson)
This meets at the community centre on Tuesday from 10am. Some vegetables have been planed and it is hoped that these will be used by the lunch club. A site visit was arranged to consider how the Community Council could help.
Street Cleaning,
Gavin Perry, resident, but also Borough employee, asked if the Community Council could purchase a back-pack rubbish/leaf litter collecting machine. A consensus was reached that this was not a viable option.
Gavin Perry also said that some street cleaning staff might be given powers to prevent littering.
Defibrillator project
This was still progressing. Frances Barrone was concerned that she was not aware of the intended location and operating conditions of the defibrillator.
Councillors report.
There was to be a review of the ongoing pothole problem in Manchester Rd. which might result in a more concerted solution. Cllr. Wright was also pursuing a solution to the apparent drainage problem at the Manchester Rd/Corporation St. junction.
Cllr. Wright would provide a website address that covered some of the issues surrounding Parishing.
Bob and Julie were to attend a site visit to discuss the schedule for improvements at the County Park operation.
Illegal signage at the Magic Roundabout was being followed up.
A letter has been sent to the owner of the Gooch St. property with the dangerously leaning rear gate pillar but the borough was only able to take action in "emergency". It was not clear quite what constituted emergency. Bob Walter would supply the ward councillor team details of the other two rear that were causing concern.
Gavin Perry announced here that a sticker and letter warning system was being considered to reduce inappropriate wheelie bin presentation.
The residences' parking scheme for zone J would now become permanent. In answer to a question Cllr. Wright confirmed that there was no special parking provision for any group of vehicle users.
Parking outside No's 1-8 Manchester Rd. was being looked at and incorrect use of the one-way system in Oriel St. was noted.
Cllr. Julie Write was recommencing regular surgery sessions at Broadgreen Community Centre on the last Saturday of each month.
Locatities issues (Frances Barrone)
There was notice of a corporate Governance Review on parishing non-parished areas but without details of the timescale.
Several regular/forthcoming events were announced.
Other business.
Ongoing parking infringements in Manchester Rd were noted.
Residents association for the Swindon Town Centre located, "Broad Street Area Community Council." And general stuff related to that.
