Policing Changes
After 5 years working in Broadgreen I am due to move on to another post and this will be my final meeting. My replacement PC 2415 Craig Thompson has worked in the town centre for a number of years and is an experienced officer. He's also worked alongside me in the Broadgreen area for the last couple of years and knows the area and its issues well.
Please direct any issues/queries through to him in the future, he can't attend this evening due to another commitment but will be here at furture meetings. Thanks for all your support since I've worked in the area.
Best Wishes
Luke

Borough and Parish Council issues.
There were issues regarding Budget Bikes in Corporation St particularly obstruction of the pavement with bikes and a tattoo parlour without planing permission. SBC was considering action.
A police officer in Channel 4's documentary programme '999 - what's your emergency?' on Monday 30th October had referred to Broadgreen as a 'red light district'. Cllr Wright suggested BSACC should write to the Police and Crime Commissioner. It was noted that Swindon Advertiser had refuted this description.
The proposed football pitch in the County Ground extension field might need a sound reducing barrier to meet late night noise level requirements. This might lead to a rethink on the plan.
The bowels club and Probation Services were being asked to maintain their former sites at the County Ground. The Parish Council was hoping to get involved with managing this.
Cllr Wright was working on the litter problem at the vacant Queenstown site.
It was suggested that bollards might b installed at Volta Rd. - Corporation st. junction to improve the safety of pedestrians and property following the recent crash. However SBC did not deem average speeds in Broadgreen justified additional road safety schemes.
Cllr Wright confirmed that exterior ATMs would be charged separate Business Rates retrospectively following the recent legal judgement.
Other business.
